That’s right, March 29th is International Mermaid Day and this year. It also happens to be a new moon, which means one of the most magical lunar phases has coincided with one of our most loved mythical creatures - that just makes it even more magical, don’t you think?

This makes it the perfect occasion to bust out your Moonlight Waters potion kit and celebrate all things mermaids. We’re talking dress-ups, glitters, ocean treasures, crystals, shells and a touch of magic!

Below we have curated a list of activities you could do to celebrate the day:

• Create a mermaid inspired potion play set up - using shells, crystals and other nature finds.

• Get a cardboard box to decorate and make your own treasure chest.

• Dress up like a mermaid for the day!

• Watch the classic cartoon or live-action version of The Little Mermaid.

The possibilities are endless, let your imagination wonder and see what other mermaid inspired crafts and activities come to mind - perhaps a calming bottle of sparkly, swirling liquids?

Now, you might be thinking, why is it so ‘special’ that International Mermaid Day falls on a new moon?

Well, if you ask us - new moons are all about setting intentions, calming the mind and reflecting on the past month.

In alignment with our Moonlight Waters potion kit, you could use a couple of the spells from this kit to help with the intentions you would like to set for the new month.
