Turning Affirmations into Intentions: Manifesting Magic

Turning Affirmations into Intentions: Manifesting Magic

Turning Affirmations into Intentions: Manifesting Magic

So you bought a potion kit.

You said the affirmations, and you made the potion, either on your own or with your child. You end up with a beautiful potion, an affirmation card, and a hope that you can manifest the affirmation into reality. But you’re not really sure how to do that.

Sure, you know in theory. You repeat the affirmation over and over, and you hope it takes hold in your life. But…there has to be more you can do, right? You hear all the time about intentions. “Manifestation” is all over your social media, but nobody ever explains how to actually do it. This is magical stuff. Right?

The good news is, you can absolutely turn an affirmation into an intention for you to manifest And it’s easy!

There are lots of ways to turn an affirmation into an intention, and then manifest that intention. First, you need to think of the affirmation as a verb. Not just a statement you repeat passively to yourself, but something you actively do in your life. This takes some practice, but it’s well worth the effort.

Got that down?

Great!

Next, you’ll want to introduce a second step. After you finish your potion, this is what you’d do next. There are countless ways to link your affirmation potion into something else, but think specifically about tangible things you can use your potion with. Once you tie your affirmation to something else, it allows your mind to actively link these things together, prompting you to associate your affirmation with that object. Basically, you are trying to turn your affirmation potion into a little spell or ritual. To turn it into a magic-making machine.

Sound confusing?

It’s easier than you think. Promise. Here are some examples of things to do with your finished affirmation potion that can help you turn your affirmation into an intention and start the manifestation process!

Bottle the potion and display it with the affirmation card.

Another easy way to keep the magic of your affirmation potion going is to bottle it up. Find a bottle (preferably something either recyclable or biodegradable), and fill it up with your potion. Place the bottle and the affirmation card associated with that potion in a place that is highly visible to you throughout the day. Beside the bathroom sink, for example, or by your phone charger.

Every time you see that potion bottle and affirmation card, speak the affirmation aloud to yourself. If it’s near a mirror, look into the mirror and speak the affirmation directly to your reflection. Really take the time to feel it. Internalize it. Pick up the bottle and hold it. Feel the bottle grow warm from the heat of your hand and imagine the magic of the potion absorbing into your skin. Into your blood, flowing all the way to your heart.

Treat this moment like a mini-meditation. Every time you encounter your potion bottle, take a minute out of your day to speak your affirmation and meditate on it. Really imagine embodying that affirmation. What would it look like to live with that affirmation as your truth? How would your life be different? How would your life be the same? Let this practice punctuate your day, and watch your affirmation manifest into an intention right before your eyes.

Add a drop to your art supplies.

One of the most magical things you can do in this world is tend to create. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or not, you can still preserve the benefit of your affirmation potion forever in a painting. If you’re a watercolor person, dip your brush in your potion and use that to wet your paints. If you’re more into acrylics, just a drop of potion will be more than enough. Mix that into your paint and let every stroke of your brush carry the magic of your affirmation with it. Use that power to create something beautiful - no artistic talent needed! You can even recite the affirmation as you work, to really solidify your intention into your actions. Pro tip: If the potion is colored, try to match the potion color to your paint color, or use it with darker colors only.

If painting really isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other ways you can implement your potion for the power of creation. You can use your potion to dampen clay, if you’re more of a sculptor. You can dip colored pencils, for a pop of brightness. If you’re painting your house, you can even add a few drops of your potion to your house paint! Imagine the energy of your affirmation seeping into the paint, permeating every molecule. As you paint your home, imagine being surrounded by your affirmation like a big hug, the magic of it filling your living space.

As you create art with your potion, imagine solidifying the affirmation into the art you’re making. While the paint dries, picture the magic sinking into the fibers of the canvas or the paper. If you sculpted with it, imagine it soaking into the clay. Let your affirmation get locked into place within your art. Then, when you have a finished piece you’re happy with, you can remind yourself of your affirmation every time you look at it. Put the affirmation card nearby, or work the affirmation into the art somehow. Whenever you see it, you can say your affirmation, either aloud or in your head, filling you with the good energy that comes with that positive self-talk.

Pour the potion into your next bath.

Water is cleansing, to both the body and the soul. The next time you draw yourself a relaxing bath, pour your affirmation potion into the water. All our potion ingredients are safe for skin contact and won’t cause any irritation, so go ahead and take a soak. Add oils or bath salts or even a bath bomb that corresponds to the affirmation of your potion (for example, lavender for calm, rose for self-love, sandalwood for courage, etc).

Take the time to make this bath luxurious. Get the water to just the right temperature. Bring a book and a beverage. If this is a bath for your child, get their favorite bath toys out for them. Get comfortable in the water and say your affirmation aloud. Imagine the warmth of the water carrying the power of your affirmation into your bones, warming you to your core. Envision it like a softly glowing light at your heart, growing brighter as you say the affirmation and as you soak in the bath. Imagine it healing you, reaching all the way into your fingers and toes, to the crown of your head. Let the affirmation fill your soul as you find relaxation in the bath.

Turn the whole bath into a visualization. As you wash yourself off, imagine washing away stress, worries, feelings of inadequacy - anything that might be holding you down. Let the water wash away any negativity that might be standing in the way of the affirmation in your heart. As you dry off after, imagine sealing the affirmation into your heart and locking out negativity. Let all the things holding you back flow down the drain and move forward ready to embody your affirmation fully.

Go Forth and Manifest.

These are definitely not the only ways to turn your affirmation into an intention. You can accomplish manifestation in infinite ways! If something speaks to you, give it a try and see how it makes you feel. The important thing is that you’re making the affirmation part of your life. You can use it in a meditation, you can tend it, you can use repetition…however you choose to use it, just make sure you’re infusing your life with the power of your affirmation. That’s how magic works, after all. Anything can be magical if you give enough of your heart to it.

So grab yourself a potion kit. Turn your affirmations into intentions, and watch how your life changes for the better. “Manifest” might be a buzzword of the moment, but it is still a very real thing that can happen. Remember that you are powerful. Your mindset and your desires are enough to make a substantial change. So give it a try (or try it with your child) and see how you like it!
